Honey is an all natural pure product. It is the end result of a long process that begins with the bee ingesting sugar-rich liquid called nectar that is found on various flowers. This nectar is stored in the bee's "honey stomach" which is then brought back to the hive for deposit into the honeycombs for future use. Honey bees must visit between 100-1500 flowers to fill their honey stomachs and incredibily must visit about 1 million flowers to produce 100 grams (4 ounces or 0.22 puonds) of honey. The types of honey is produced are based upon the type of flower and its nectar. When honey is made from many different flowers with a mixture of nectar, it is called polyfloral (many flowers). When it is derived from one flower source it is know as monofloral (one flower). After the bees have produced enough honeycombs, they are brought directly from our beautiful fields in Sicily into our production plant and facility. Here they are processed and turned into luscious sweet honey. This honey is matured over time and then placed into sterelized jars and sealed. The process we use to mature the honey is called Crystallization (or curing), an all natural process which avoids using any type of heart and thus maintaining all of the honey's natural value. Honey can be consumed by everyone (except for infants under one year old). There are no controindications and it is low in calories. The shelf life of honey is indefinite, and when kept in a cool dry place it retains all of its qualities. Our honey products can be consumed in a solid form or liquid by gently placing the jar of honey in warm water (Not hotter than 45 Celsious/113 Fahrenheit).
Our Laboratory and facility are regular and strictly disinfected according to the regulatuions of H.A.C.C.P. (Hasard Analisys and Critical Control Points).
